Hi,
My wife came home and the sunroof on her 2007 S60 no longer opens it opens about an inch or two and just makes a rattling noise.

Then when we close it it meets correctly in the front but in the rear the driver side is higher and the passenger side is about 3/4” lower than it should be.

Any idea of what this is and how to fix it?

The cables are not "timed". One (or both) cables have slipped and the sunroof is not being pulled evenly. Sometimes the motor works loose and can cause that.

Once you get the cables even so the roof is being pulled "straight" (instead of a tooth or so out on one side) Then you calibrate the sunroof module
