Default Sleeping in my 2006 V50

Hi Everyone,

Not sure quite where to post this so if this is wrong then point me in the right direction.

I am looking to frequently sleep in my V50 but the few times I have so far the alarm keeps going off. The car is unlocked but the keys aren't in.
My mechanic friend says I can safely leave the keys in and on position 'I' all night without fear of a flat battery but I am sceptical.
Sometimes while sitting in my car for 10-15 minutes with the keys in I get a low voltage warning.

I wonder if any of you guys have slept in your cars or came across the same problem.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Ben

Why does the alarm go off? I have 2008 and 2014 Volvos with keyless locks and neither alarm goes off by merely sitting or sleeping in the car. Are the older built-in alarms different? If necessary, you could tap the fuse and add a switch. There are simple kits if you search online, especially on RV sites.
