Default SRS fault

I have a 2003 XC90 2.5 l T (base). Recently there has been a warning on the driver's dash annunciator advising that the SRS needed urgent maintenance. The local Volvo dealer advises me that the DIM relay is the source of the fault. Are wholesale OEM parts available for the fix? The part is apparently rather pricey.

The DIM or driver information module is pricey because it is an important module in the cars make network. The light might be coming on because of the actual SRS light. But I've never heard of a DIM relay going bad.

That is known problem with DIMs of 2002-2003 MY. (they all are faulty by design)
So it is better to buy used on from 2004 MY and program it to the car if necessary.

Are there any Volvo manufacturer recalls related to failure of the DIMs for the 2003 model year?
