standard obdII codes... tech can you check this out???
this is verbatim what the scanner pulled. there are 4 different codes. 1st- p0432, the pcm has determined that the main catalyst efficiency bank 2 is below threshold for the current engine operating conditions.identifies the location of cylinder 1, while bank 2 idnentifies the cylinders on the opposite sides of the bank... cylinder 1 missfire, right? or is this an 02 sensor code? this one pulled for a domestic vehicle.
2nd- po422, pcm determined the main catalyst efficiency for bank 1 is below threshold for the current engine operating conditions... sounds like the same problem different location... this also pulled for a domestic vehicle.
3rd- p1181, natural gas vehicle definition, fuel delivery system high condition. explanation-ecm detected pressure signal from ng module data was higher tan a calibrated value. probable cause- fuel pressure regulator. this pulled codes for ford, vw, and bmw.
4th- p1171, rotor sensor fault... this one pulled for a vw, gm, isuzu, acura, and hyundai.
i have no idea if this is even valid to a volvo but its acting like it could very well be the o2 sensor causing all of this... any thoughts? im stumped... i just want to figure out what it is and fix it. why so much trouble with the codes? it shouldnt be volvo dealer specific unless its a money game...

RE: standard obdII codes... tech can you check this out???
OK I just looked them up.
The P0422 & P0432= ECM-4801 3-way cat efficiency
The P1171= ECM-261A long term fuel trim
The P1181= ECM-271A long term fuel trim
Basically means a vacuum leak some where or a Mass Flow sensor going bad.

wow... any ideas on wheretha MAF sensor'slocation is on the s80? i was hoping i wouldnt have to replace the front o2 sensors. looked like a little bit of a tight fit for a wrench without tearing something apart. anywho, thanks a mill tech. i really dont kno what this forum would do without'cha...

RE: standard obdII codes... tech can you check this out???
sorry, i had a brain fart... i just realized where it would have to be... i also was wondering if the hose clamp on the inside of the sensor being loose couldhave anything to do with the codes? it was really loose and was probably able to pull in air. the code always pops up after you run it at high rpms so it makes sense to me...
