Of course, the Jeep wave is famous, but have you ever given a nod or wave as another slash emblem passes by?

It's not so much a wave as it is a tilting back of the head and a thumbing of the nose to those less fortunate sorts who do not drive Volvo's. Yes I do wave at Volvo drivers.

I don't bother. 99.5% of Volvo drivers treat their cars like just a mode of transportation. Which is perfectly fine. BUt every other blue moon i'll be driving down a road and see a 850r or a 740 TI or the ever rare 240 T or TI. And for them i'll catch up and give them a nod.

I knew nothing of the Jeep wave. I'm out of the loop.

I thought only bikers did that! And any old guys back home no matter what they're driving.

I have seen the Jeep guys do that! I see everyonce in a while a caravan of Jeep folks head out to Cocoa beach and they usually either honk or wave at others in the other direction. When I am on 2 wheels, it is customary to do the same for fellow bikers but .not many Volvo owners really care like adub96 said..

I approve and use this move occasionally. I try not to be too snobby but then I remember how cool I am.

Good idea. How about something similar to the 2 finger peace sign? You know, "V" for "Volvo"??

Ive been trying out the volvo wave here in Ireland, and its not working.......though got a nod from an 850. Ive had mini waves a plenty (excluding the BMW fakes) and the motorbike wave is a given. There should be more volvo waves out there.......

I don't randomly throw the volvo wave/head nod around its fruitless. In my community there are several families with BMW's, Merc's, and Volvo's. Even one Saab. For the most part i'm completely ignored when I'm in the s60. When I'm in the 242 though, people come over to me in non volvo cars and are like, "sweet ride man, wanna sell it?" Though the guy with the Saab comes and talks to me about cars some times. And a few people with Volvo's will walk over when i'm working on the car in my garage and ask me how to fix things.

I have tried waving to other Volvo driver's. Weird looks is about all I get in return. Most of the people driving Volvo's would not even recognize another Volvo. I notice Vette people wave as do Bikes.
