turn signal switch
Hello ---- can someone please tell me if I can replace my turn signal switch/lever on 2001 s60 that has no trip computer reset button with one that does have trip computer reset button, or are they incompatible? I'm getting mixed messages from eBay sellers.
Thanks.
Thanks.
I'm not sure about the answer to your question just yet. I have an '01 as well and I am switching over the interior from a T5 to my base model. Anyway, I think I will have the time on Sunday to finally get to it. Maybe someone else will let us know.
(I have a feeling that the signal switch will work fine on its own but the trip computer functionality will need to get programmed from the dealer.)

It wont work. If your car does not have the info button, thats the one you have to get.
Part #-31268577
You can find a used one,as long as it worked in the previous car,it should work in yours. Those dont require any type of download to work.

I had time today to do the swap myself. Can be done with a Torx bit and screwdriver and about 15 minutes tops. I'm happy to say that the turn signals work just fine and as I thought, the added trip computer functionality does not work yet. Hope that helps with your ebay purchase.
I think that with a lot of the little things on these cars, it is a matter of having the right parts and then having the computer acknowledge the existence of these parts. An example is with the fog lights. The wiring is all there - on every single S60 - it is just a matter of installing the lights and switch. But they will not work without the computer knowing that it now has fog lights, which requires dealer software download.

Just to be sure, since blownby said it would not work. You replaced a turn signal switch lever that had a reset button(trip computer) with one that did not have the reset button, and all turn signals and bright light functions worked OK?
