Recently got a new XC90 and while loving the car there is a persistent issue with volume control when I plug in Apple CarPlay (volume cannot be controlled). Searched all sorts of different forums but could not find a resolution that would work. The only thing that fixes the problem is to make a phone call after starting the CarPlay. While the workaround of calling my own number (Siri, call home) is easy, I would still expect not to see these sorts of issues. Any ideas on how to fix it permanently?

... on a related note, I was really surprised that CarPlay only works when the phone is connected via a cable (sorts of defeats the purpose of cable-less charging pad in the car) ... but that's a topic for another thread ...
