Default Volvo - dangerous license plate bracket

my xc90 license plate holder is extremely dangerous. What is Volvo thinking??? They are supposed to be all about safety. The license plate nuts stick out too far and caused damage to my other car. I let me son pull the car into the driveway and he just tapped the back of my other car, an Element. He put to small holes from the impact. So I searched the internet and found an all rubber license plate frame. I hope others can avoid my costly problem. the website is below.
FlexyFrame front & rear bumper protection, license plate holder, bumper guard

The problem is that Element sitting in the way of your brick! lol I have no comment regarding this scenario, at least he didn't hurt someone.

Safety is in the eye of the beholder or the hands of the operator.

Is that the front of the car or the back? There are suppose to be rounded nuts on the screws.
