The PCV is the likely bad part. Especially if this developed immediately after you changed the PCV. Are you sure its pointing the right way? Did you save the old one? If so, put it back in and see if the problem is solved. If so, then your new part is bad -- stuck in the closed position (if its put in right, that is).
The odds of it being another problem are slim. Possible, but slim. Crankcase pressure is building up and can't go into the intake which is what the PCV does.
Years ago, (like 1965 and before) cars vented into the atmosphere, usually through the oil filler cap. Not now.
Make sure your PCV is put in properly; and if so, change it out for a known good one.
