You gotta be kidding! I am a proud Cadillac owner and belong to the Cadillac Forum. That forum is informative, really helpful, and most of all the members are proud of their Cadillacs. My wife loves here Volvo 960 and is currently looking at an '01 V70 Cross Country. I've scanned through different forums here and have to say I go away feeling as if everyone that owns a Volvo hates them and has nothing but trouble with them. Good grief,,,,,,,,,,How can I possibly encourage my wife to buy a Volvo ?????

 

Some hate them and others love them. Most love them but act like they hate them at times.

But again thats what we are here for. I love both of mine.

 

It was the model you where pushing, an 01 XC70. Had you said you where looking at a V70 or a 850 or a 240 or a S60 or a 142 or an P1800 or a C70 or an R or a C30 or a S70 or a 740, I even like my S80......................................Maybe you should get her a Biarritz! !

 

I have an 850 wagon.
I believe it could be the last car I ever own.
I am So happy with it.
Yes the 850 did/does have it's flaws, so does every car ever made.

Some love old fords/holdens/mercs/jags/insert brand here.
ALL cars have faults or problems.

Maybe we volvo owners are just fussier and expect more.
The bits that have broken on mine are std things, door straps, window channels and so on.
BUT, It's a 12 year old car. it has lasted well past any warranty it may have had.
If the replacement parts also last 10 years, I don't see a problem.

Show me a 10 year old car with nothing broken or replaced and I'll show one that has never been driven.

 

I bought my first Volvo in 1985 and now own three of them. My son has two Volvo's, each of my two daughters has a Volvo and my mother in law has a Volvo. Personally I hate Cadilacs.

 

Don't let this forum Scare you...like I was told..you most likely will only read about the BAD ones on here..mainly because they want Info how to fix them or find parts for them..you never hear about the Good Ones...I was scared to after buying my 01 S80 2.9.. then coming on here and reading all the bad stuff..but I've owned it for just over 2 months..and wouldn't trade it for nothing...Best Ride I ever had..and I've owned Mercedes and I also own a Lexus SC400 and it out rides both of those.

It also depends on How the car is being taken care of..if you do the right things on almost any car..it will last a very long time..if you don't..you pay the price!!!

 

Boy you sure know how to get off on the right foot on this forum don't you. A lot of people join these forums when they are having a problem and just post once or twice until they get an answer. You'll never know how many of them like or dislike their cars. Now the ones of us that have been around for awhile love our cars. We may get mad at them from time to time but we still love them. Sort of like your kids.
