Wiper problem
Hi all. I own a 2005 S40 T5 with 6 speed manual tranny. The wipers are working but there is no fluid from the bottle. The car has Bi-xenon lights and headlight sprays. The left side sprays but not the right. Can anyone tell me how to access the washer bottle ? I am told that these lites have very high voltages. Is there a filter on the washer bottle? Any help would be welcomed. Thx.

What does the HIGH VOLTAGE LIGHTS have to do with the sprayers? Most of those cars have a T fitting in the washer supply line. Usually 1 of 2 things are wrong. 1 = You have a cracked tube or it's loose. 2 = Your spray nozzel is clogged.
To check #1, take the supply tube off at the nozzel that is not working. Wash the windshield and see if water/cleaner comes out of the disconnected tube. If it does, your nozzel is clogged. If it does NOT, it has been disconnected down stream either by a tear in the line or the hose came loose.
Please post back.

help, 2005 volvo s40 washer dpes not spray
Hi rspi, I did look at the hoses under the wheel well. All seemed intact, but I will try the checks u suggest this Saturday. The "high voltage" comment was in regards to removing the bottle. The h/lite is in the way or not? I will post my results. Thx. some light at the end of the tunnel, finally.

Hi everyone, I finally solved my "wipers not spraying" problem this past week. I tried all the suggestions but nothing worked. I finally undid the washer bottle and with my wife working the washers I listened for sounds from the pump. Nothing, except it got HOT and that told me that the pump was dead/seized. I bought a new pump from the Volvo dealership. The old n new pumps are Ford products but the #s on the part do not show up in either dealers' data base. The parts guy said that pump failure was pretty regular( some comforting words?). The whole process was straight forward after trials:remove left wheel, car on j/stand;remove liner, remove bumper. Bottle is held in place by 3-10mm screws. Thanks for all the suggestions!
