My 2000 s40sometimes will not start. No indication that it is going to happen just once in a while it just has nothing no click turn or anything.
Then I can wait a couple of minutes and bang it will start like nothing was wrong.

I brought it to my mechanic and of courese thr problem wasn't happening. He checked it out and couldn't find anything.

He changed the battery and the problem went away for a while now it's back. I don't think it's the battery because it will start again.

Anybody ever have this problem? Thanks.

 

I hate to say it but I had the same problem with my 01 S40. I put a new battery in it and had no further problems. For a 100 bucks was pretty cheap. Remember to get you radio code before you take battery out.

 

Have the ignition switch and the PNP switch checked.

 

I am sorry did you say that you changed the battery or charged it. I thought you just had it charged. If it is a new battery then look at techs response.
