Hello everyone,

I'm a writer and my character in my novel drives a late 80's Volvo. I need a bit of help with the models that were available at the time, and I also need to know how big the glove boxes were, if they were big enough to fit two small journals of about 5X7 size. Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance.

 

Not exactly, but drivers of older Volvos are invariably handsome, intelligent, muscular men that women find irresistible. They always smell good and never, ever have grease under their fingernails. And they drive an old Volvo because driving their Bentley or Ferrari makes them feel selfconcious. Hope that your character fits this mold (in the interest of accuracy, of course).w

 

Well, the book takes place in 1990 so what would you say about a 1990's man driving a brand new Volvo? Can you see a professor at Cambridge doing it? I can.

 

A Cambridge prof? Hmmm...Why not? I assume he would resemble Harrison Ford, be independently wealthy and have women half his age chasing him at every turn. This explains driving the not too fast Volvo. After all, a guy likes to be caught occasionally.

 

You guys are nuts!!! I use to drive a '87 and yes the glove box could fit the 2 and a 32 caliper revolver. And yes I'm everything that Don and Swiff described.
