Default XC60 recurring refueling issue - frozen inner valve

Recurring issue now with our '18 XC60 T8 hybrid: the inner valve on the gas tank is frozen and we are thus unable to gas up the car. Has anyone experienced anything similar? Is this a Volvo issue that has appeared on any other models?

I understand this model has a dual valve capless system where after you open the fuel door, there's an outer and an inner valve to prevent vapor and fumes from exiting the tank. The nozzle clears the outer valve and goes in but won't go all the way because the inner valve is frozen shut (I was stupid enough to think it might still work last time, leading to gas sputtering out).

It first happened the last time we tried to refuel the car about a month ago. I took it to the dealer and they were able to unfreeze the inner valve and said they added lubricant to stop the problem from reappearing. However, it's happened again today and we're on our way back to the dealer. I'm glad my wife wanted to fill up at 1/4 tank and didn't wait until 1/8 like me

Now I will say I suspect the car being the plug-in hybrid might have something to do with it. Because it's a daily commuter and gets charged up every night, we gas up seldom - I'm talking like once in a month or once every 1,5 months. This combined with recent weather (between -10 and +10 C in recent months) might mean conditions are conducive to moisture forming and freezing. Still, from a Swedish carmaker you'd think they'd think of something like this.
