Question ...your input, please.....

I own a 94 850 (non turbo) which I bought about 8 or 9 months ago. The car has just turned 114K miles on it, and is in immaculate condition (everything works well, and the leather has NO cracks, splits, etc.) I put new tires on it, and had the tranny serviced, and have kept all the other service regular also.
I am considering selling it, possibly to go to an S60 or S80.
Now the tough part....determining what a "fair" price for this 850 would be. The bad news is....and I knew it when I bought it....it has a previous "rebuilt" title on it. The previous owner bought it new, drove it about 12 years, and had a slight collision on the front end. Apparently they raised enough cain with their adjuster that he totalled it out for them. I have checked it out underneath and everywhere, had it on a rack, etc., and found NO damage to the undercarriage. The ONLY damage was to the front bumper and cover, and the very tip of the front fender, which, rather than have paint work on the car, I bought a car bra for it, and completely covered it. The previous title was in Texas, and, since I live in Oklahoma, obviously it has an Oklahoma title now, which is clean, and NOT salvage or rebuilt. OBVIOUSLY..........I will fully disclose all this to anyone interested in it, but, again, it is such a really NICE car....I don't want to give it away.....so---I would really like some opinions from some of you "Volvo people"....on what it should REALLY be worth. Thanks!

Most 90's Volvos that are well-maintained go for around $5,000. I got a '98 S70 GLT a year ago for $5,000 and a lot of others have gotten S70's and 850's for the same price.

Thanks for your input!! So, in order to be VERY fair to a purchaser, since the car does have the previous "rebuilt" title...if I were to ask around $3000 for it, do you think that would be being fair?? Thanks!

I would say that 5k for a 94 non turbo would be unrealistic money! 5k would be more for an R model or maybe GLT with that mileage and CLEAN! Plus we might be talking about a late 90's model. I think you would be safe with 3k and going from there for your 94. Do you have any picsof your car?

Hate to rain on your parade, but after owning an 850, why would you consider a S60? Have you driven one? Can't speak to the S80 though...

Maybe you could keep the 850 around for when your new car is in the shop?

Please don't take offense; just my good natured sarcasm coming through again; can you tell i own an 850?

Take care.
