Removing Cats from a turbo?
Before I say anything else let me say, I know next to nothing about cars so correct me if I say anything wrong.
My brother just got new downpipes and exhaust for his Audi. During the process he had the cats removed from his turbos.
That got me wondering if it's possible to remove that cats off my turbo in a 2004 s80 2.5t and if that would help with performance in anyway?
I probably sound like an idiot so just let me know if this is even possible or I'm even making any sense?
Thanks

Any of the online muffler stores should have them (like magnaflow).
most muffler shops that make downpipes will be able to get highflow cats.
I know a guy who makes them. what state you in?
Oh.....BTW....Does your state have emission laws? it is illegal to run with out a cat.

I'd have to look into that, I live in Maryland. I might do what you suggest and just get a performance cat so I'm covered either way.
I'm guessing a high flow cat will increase boost enough that it would make it worth putting the money into this?

Yes. well. the whole exhaust system does increase flow and response for the trubo.
you will notice a difference.
High flow cats are I think they're ~$100-$200. you just need to talk with the seller and see what size you need. I think I have a 6" cat on the 740turbo. not sure what sizes you'll need.
