We will be there early so we can find a spot in the park where we can fit numerous cars and be able to grill. There is a street that goes through the park, so just come to the park and follow it until you find a bunch of Volvo's. If people want to PM me or 850tony phone numbers, we can call people when we get there with an exact location. Stay tuned for updates.

haha, sounds good, I'm heading down early to find a place to have this thing at in the park, so when you get to the park, just drive around until you find some more Volvos. haha.

 

i hate to say and do this.... but due to unforeseen circumstances i will not be able to make it to an event that i organized. i am currently sitting in an airport getting ready to fly out to tx for a family emergency....

Sorry everyone i could not make it. i work 3rd shift so i went home to take a nap and slept through my alarm

 

so how did it go today? i really wish i could of been there

 

It was a pretty poor turnout. I had my car, my dad had his, and then a couple people from volvospeed came, red S70 T5M and an S60 R. Was kind of disappointing.

 

whaaaaaaat. thats not cool. we need to setup another one and post it everywhere and have a set place and time when you make the post that will help the turnout

 

This one was poster everywhere; volvoforums, volvospeed, turbobricks, and swedespeed.

 

i think the problem was waiting till the last minute to post the location. i didnt see it on other forums thats why i mentioned that

 

I put the location on the other forums the same time I did on here. And everyone knew that it was in Rockford. So I don't think that was the problem. Talking to the guys that did come, it sounds like a lot of the midwest meets are like this, a lot of people say they're going to come and then don't.

 

I believe it was really bad timing. A lot of kids going off to college (like me) need to consider getting ready and can't afford to spend a weekend away. Also for people with kids, I know a lot who went shopping for their kids over that weekend because it is the last free weekend before their kids start school.

Even if my Volvo was not currently up for sale, I probably still could not have made it personally because a lot of my college friends start this week and this last weekend was their last opportunity to hang out.

Maybe next summer in the middle of July would be great or even late June would be perfect. Crossing my fingers and hoping my bro doen't sell off the Volvo by then

Until then.... stay hard on the pedal and run it like it was made to be run.
