I have been creeping this forum since summer of 2012 after the purchase of a 1989 245 wagon. My daughter decided she wanted a Volvo wagon for going off to school(???) so we found one for $1500.00. I lucked out as the original owner had the car until 2009 and had it serviced at the local Volvo specialist and never hesitated to replace whatever was needed. 235000 showing but has a broken odometer. ( records show 220000 in March of 2012)
Put about $3500.00 in it over the last 4 years including tires, calipers, rotors, fuel pump, sending unit, door pockets, wiper motor, battery, alt mounts, radiator, complete stereo system and some junkyard trim pieces. New aftermarket headlights, turns and tail lights, ( the tail lights suck, story for another post.)
Had ratty looking turbo wheels so I painted them gray and added new center caps and chrome lug nuts. Stripped the tape from around the windows and repainted trim black all around. Not too bad looking for an old Tank .
Just wanted to thank everyone here as I have done all the work with your advice/ suggestions. Here are a few pictures of what the kids call the " Swag Wagon"
