Howdy! This is the first time I am venturing off to these forums.

I have a question about tuneups regarding this car. Roughly, how much would it cost to tune up a 1990 240 DL? I myself know nothing about cars. I came across a model, 150,000 miles for 2,000 dollars. With that in mind, this car will need new tires. My dad tells me its the labor that will be majority of costs for fixes. I absolutely love the way these "old school" model Volvo's look. I am definitely interested but I am worried it might cost too much down the road.

I stopped by a dealership close by, and got a quote for $700 for a 'complete' tuneup.
What my real question is, is this a usual price for a tuneup for this model? The seller says he knows a mechanic that can do it for roughly $150. The seller doesn't remember when he had his last tuneup or how much he paid for it. Should I look somewhere else? Look for a different car?!
Again, I know nothing about cars.. Enlighten me, please.
