Default 1998 c70

Hey guys,
I'm looking at purchasing a C70. It has 156,000 miles on it, I have a few questions I need help with.
1. How can i verify rather it's a HPT or a LPT
2. Is 5 speed turbos common
3. Is the clutch difficult or expensive to replace
I've had my 850 T-5 for 12 years now and this car hasn't cost me anything compared to my SUV that I've only had for 6 years. Haven't had much experience with the C70s. Any help you maybe able to offer would be great.

Welcome to the Forum.

1) You can tell by the VIN number if the car is an HPT or LPT.

2) No, it is not common. I do not believe the LPT cars came in Manual at all so if you are looking for a manual, it will be an HPT car.

3) The clutch is no harder to replace then it would be on any FWD car. Have you do a clutch on a FWD car? As for cost to have it done, probably a grand.

If I were to get a C70, I would only get a 98 or anything 2002 or newer. The 99 thru 01 cars had issues with the ETM.

Bad news the C70 was a bust, but curious to know what the EMT is. So I'm on the hunt for another 1998.
