2002 Volvo S60
I’m having a problem with putting the key in the ignition it keeps locking a little bit and you got a wiggly to get it in wiggly to get it out. You can start the car put it in gears but when you try to drive the string wheel is locked. It will not unlocked. It’ll move forward and backwards, but the string wheel will not unlock.. try resetting the car took out battery put the battery back. Put the key in the door. I did everything hitting alarm system off and on. it just happened. All of a sudden I went to work came home park the car and now it does have this issue. It did get really cold I am in New Jersey. I don’t know if it froze in that state of being locked. But I can’t not unlock the steering wheel and release right in the ignition as well. at first I thought it was my key. I ordered two keys from Volvo. That doesn’t seem to be the issue. Do anyone knows how to fix this.

If you are saying the key turns just fine, car starts normally but the steering column lock sticks - that's not the normal way the column locks fail. If that is your failure (deadbolt into the column is sticking) - you might be able to rig something or lubricate that portion after you remove the lock from the column.
If it's the normal failure where the key won't turn to start the car - the solution is a new steering column lock. There have been posted many ways to avoid a new part by partially dismantling the column lock while on the car.
If you need a new column lock - the easiest solution is to order a new column lock from Volvo using your VIN. The new lock will come keyed to your old keys - so your old key will work.
The keys you ordered from Volvo - did you get the car programmed (using VIDA) to accept the keys so the car will actually run when you use them?
The keys were programmed now I just have a problem when I start the car it will go in drive reverse, neutral, park all of it it just will not unlock the steering wheel and it feels like when you put the key in there’s another lock mechanism in there that’s blocking but if you push it, it will open and put the key in but it allows you to start car. Put it in gear. It will go forward and backward, but will not unlock the steering
If so - you can order one using your VIN (like you did the keys) and Volvo will manufacture one to fit your existing keys. Takes about the same amount of time it took to get your special order keys. (don't believe that part number, it's just there as an example)
