2003 Volvo S40 code 61 camshaft reset vlv
We can't seem to get this code to go away. We have replaced the solenoid with a Volvo part, the CVVT gear, timing belt and added Seafoam. The code comes back with in a week and usually right on start up. Any other ideas??
When was your last oil change? Did you replace the gasket as well when you did the VVT valve?

Maybe you should replace else or maybe add marvel mystery, or even snake oil -
Without a rational diagnostic process based on reasonable facts - it can be very difficult to solve problems on modern cars.
With your problem it could be as simple as the cam timing is not correctly set. With a compatible scan tool you can verify exactly what the VVT system is doing - or just keep replacing stuff.
Sorry it's late - good luck

We replaced the timing belt to ensure that it was in the right spot. Someone said to check the oil pressure since the valve is actuated by oil pressure, maybe the oil pan seals are leaking?? and will also try some Lucas oil treatment. Thanks for the help. this one is a real head scratcher lol
The lucas oil part was sarcasm btw Tracy. You don't need to add any more treatments to your oil
But as hoonk mentioned, a good scan tool will be able to see the vvt system and how its operating as well as your oil pressure etc.
