Exclamation 2003 XC90 5Cyl AWD Instrument Cluster NO Display

Hi All,
I was very impressed by the forum posts as there are very dynamic enthusiasts and techies.

I recently got a 2003 XC90 and was very much impressed by the vehicle even though it was 220K miles on 5 cylinder AWD Base model. I got the timing belt changed and ever since its working great.
Last week I was driving in rain and suddenly there was a splash of water hit the car from the other car driving very fast in the opposite direction. After that my instrument Cluster display stopped displaying anything.
Other symptoms I noticed are as follows:
1. NO Power to the driver Seat.
2. AC NOT working
3. Instrument Cluster display completely OFF
4. AM/FM Radio is working normally
5. Lights and Turn Signals are working NORMALLY (but I can not see from inside car as dashboard is not displaying)

Here is all I did so far but not able to get to the bottom of the problem.
1. Replaced the instrument Cluster from another XC90 2003 model from ebay: But problem is the same
2. I checked all fuses and found that no fuse is blown.
3. Tried to open the relays and CEM under the steering wheel. Which I have not completed yet. Trying to figure out how to take it out. While doing so I took out few relays next to Traction Control module on the relays junction box and found 4 of the relays have corrosion around the pins. I tested those 4 relays and found to be functioning OK.
4. I am now trying to get the entire CEM module taken out and see if there is any water damage etc...

The questions are:
1. Are there any fuse or relay that directly feeds Instrument Cluster ?
2. Did anyone face the same/similar issues ?. If yes please, please point me to the solution/s for me.
3. Please send me Any electrical diagrams if any?

Much appreciated,
Rao D

Hi Team ,
I have done a swap of the CEM from another similar year make model from eBay and the Instrument cluster works fine NOW.
However now my Key is not starting the Vehicle. Issue may be the since the CEM is from different vehicle (VIN) getting "CEM-6c48 Transponder Type Signal Faulty".
I am tring now to reprogram the CEM.

Any ideas are very very welcome to reprogram. By the way I subscribed to VIDA today. Do not know how to use it but let see...
Thanks all,
Dat Rao

The "new" CEM does not have your key programmed into it. I imagine with a VIDA subscription, a compatible DICE unit (some clones are not) and a quick learning curve on a very quirky program - you could add your keys to your "new" CEM.

Most modules are coded to the VIN of the car. You might want to make sure everything else in the car works with a mismatched CEM before spending the time/effort of adding your keys. Once you get the car to run - you may find other things don't play well with a mismatched CEM.

Another choice would be to send both your CEMs to xemodex and have them transfer the correct VIN/keys and other info to your used unit.
