Default 2005 Volvo 5.7 GI-E starboard side whinning and rough idle problems

Just purchased a 2005 Four Winns 214 Funship last fall. The engine had about 425 hours. We ran in out on the lake about 5 separate trips with no issues. Winterized in October. I completed all the maintenance on the boat preparing it for this season.

Once I started the boat for the first time, it gave out a really loud high pitched sound from the starboard side of the engine/manifold area. After about 2-3 minutes the sound would stop and only come on sporadically for a few seconds. The engine idle seemed normal at this point.

I took it out to the lake yesterday and it started up again, making that same noise. After about 3 mins of running, the engine's idle speed would fluctuate and eventually die. This happened several times before the alarm sounded. I turned off the engine and went back home.

On further inspection, I found that I had switched the hoses for the water pump. I made the correction and am still having noise and rough idling (almost making a sucking sound). I disconnected the batteries thinking this would help reset the EMC. The engine idles a bit longer than before but is still rough.

I'm at a loss!!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
