I have about 227k on my 2011 xc90 and the fuel pump finally gave out on me and I was in the process of changing it out with my brother. We tied string to the hosing that goes to the other side of the tank and clips onto the sending unit. During this process the string got pulled out the other side with the old pump and now I have no clue what way the pump hosing feeds back. We have looked all over the internet for videos and on forums and it all says that its a nightmare if you lose that string. We were brain storming on which way to try to feed this thing back over, the hosing on the new pump seems to bend upward and is very stiff which makes us think that it would go down to the bottom side(red route) of the tank in the diagram. We tried to feed it up top(blue route) but it seems like its getting caught up on something. I am fairly new to being DIYer and new to posting on forums. So any feedback is welcome and much appreciated.
