2013 C70 Roof Issue
Hi Everyone
Just joined the forum hoping that someone may be able to help me with roof problem with my c70.
Recently a warning triangle showed on the dash when I was retracting the roof system, and to take it to my Volvo service centre for attention. I was told that the wiring harness had chaffed and caused the wires to split/short and they would require the vehicle for up to 2 days to find and fix the problem and this was going to be quite expensive.
i emailed Volvo Australia and expressed my annoyance as I felt this is a design fault and Volvo should go someway to assist in repairing damaged wiring harness. I was told that as the vehicle is now outside its warranty policy there was nothing they would do.
i also emailed Volvo headquarters in Sweden and basically got the same response, telling me that the roof may be out of alignment which caused the wiring to be damaged. The roof has been working fine and vehicle has not been in any accident to cause it to be out of alignment. I did ask them if it was possible to pinpoint where the problem might be from the vehicles specs to eliminate time spent looking for the issue and save me a lot of expense, but I was told that it was hard to pinpoint the issues from their end and it was not their area of expertise and to go back to my service centre.
i am a bit bemused to be told by Volvo headquarters they don't have the expertise to assist with vehicle specs to possibly go straight to the problem
i was just wondering if anyone else had had this same issue and wether they would know exactly where the problem may be so that i can save some time and money.
Thanks
Mark
