I just thought I’d post the thread regarding my wife’s car. Rear wiper inoperative. Tried the usual, fuses etc but all good. Suspected the wiper shaft seized but there was movement between the housing and shaft and WD40 was quickly being absorbed down the wiper shaft. Nothing for it the motor is coming out. Motor removed, gearbox cover off, no stripped gears and everything free.
The problem was a choked commutator on the electric motor. Cleaned up, segments chased out, reassembled with fresh grease in the shaft and gearbox, quickly connected to the wiring block and everything worked. Cheaper than a new one and my wife is happy.
