There are many but these forums would appreciate it if you used one of their sponsors. If you do use them, make sure you tell the company how you found them!

Here is a site that I have used for real good deals on OEM parts. It takes a while to get them though.

That is a great site.

I truly believe in OEM parts. I have made the mistake of getting my brakes resurfaced and new pads from Goodyear and my brakes squeek etc. SHould have gone to the dealer. That is just one example

I put aftermaket pads on my once, the first time I replaced them. Less than 5,000 miles I replaced again with OEM and have used nothing but ever since. They only last about 40,000 miles, but that's not all that bad. I think I have only replaced the rotors once and that was the last time I had somebody else do the brakes.

Agreed the Volvo pads may wear faster but nothing beets them in the braking. They are quiet and feel alot better when stopping.

I was also told that when you take your vehicle to a mechanic they strip your rotors down so it cant be done again. Sneaky way to get you to have to buy new rotors next time... be careful of that scam!

I don't usually have my rotors turned any more. If they are bad I buy new ones. I did have them turned on my Suburban right before selling it, but they were brand new, but got messed up because I had ceramic pads that sat for about two years w/o driving much at all. The brakes were a mess from sitting. Somebody told that's the worse thing you can do with ceramic pads, not drive the car.

I didnt know that about ceramic brakes. I have a street legal Manx clone buggy and I drive it about 1000 miles a year tops and it has 4 wheel disc brakes... perhaps I better look into what kind of pads it has!

Again that's just what a mechanic told me. Before I sold it I had to replace the battery, the exhaust and the brakes just because it was sitting out in the open most of the time. I made a point to drive once or twice a month, but that's not much. My Dad always told me the worst thing you can do to a car is not drive it.
