hey folks, got in my 850 and wouldnt start. kicking, but not turning over. checked the fuel line and pump, all good. took out a sparkplug, put it to the block checking for spark, a bit there and all of the sudden the car turns over and starts, rough of course but turns over. put the spark plug in, no start. do the same thing again, and after 8 kicks or so, the car fires up again. so im guessing electrical problem, not sure but the valve sensor thats is in the side of the block might need replacing. any thoughts?

 

What does "kicking" mean? That is NOT a car starting term.

These are the terms we understand:
1. Dead = turn the key and nothing happens.
2. Click(ing) = turn the key and hear a click.
3. Cranking = motor turns over but does not start.
4. Stalls = starts and runs for a few seconds then dies.

when I start my 1993 850, the service light comes on and stays on for about 2 min each time, then it goes off. I have checked everything over, the lightbulbs etc look good. it has 250000km, the timing belt just passed 80000km and is now due to be replaced. the hazard light has been on for about 3 months also, the light that indicates that something is not right. but I did some work on it a few months ago, the number one electronic injector came loose, plugged it back in and good as new, but since then that weird triangle hazard light has been on. no issues with the car, idles at 800, gets good gas mileage. any suggestions to what this is?

 

service light gone, did the reset.
that triangle light is on though still, what exactly does it mean and how do I get it off. checked everything in the car, looks all good.
