'89 245DL finally getting the attention she deserves
Hey all,
I'm not new to Volvo's, but new to this forum because I'm finally in a position to give my '89 the attention she needs.
I've owned it for 6 years (since I inherited it from my Dad; I also previously owned a '99 V70) and he owned it from 1998-2007. He was the second owner and bought it from a nice old lady that kept it in a garage in Palm Beach from the day she bought it 'till the day she sold it.
It has been sitting for 3 years, while I used my bike as my main mode of transportation, but I now have a driveway and a little more disposable income so...THE WORK HAS BEGUN. (Again...I started 3 years ago, but got through rear shocks, MAF sensor, Fuel filter)
Yesterday it started with the oil, filter, air filter, ball joints, tie rods, tie rod ends, sway bushings and end link bushings. The plugs, dist. cap, rotor and some minor exterior clips and fasteners are on the way.
Next month, I have plans for new rotors and calipers, struts (I put Billy HD's in the rear 4 years ago), 2 dracos to finish the set (yes, I'm rolling with 2 steelies and 2 dracos
. Anybody have 2?), and a slew of small interior details. I'll get a list up in the wanted section soon!
