Avid 2005 Volvo C70 Convertible lover - amateur mechanic
When I say "amateur mechanic" it means I inherited tools from my father.. well, I inherited skills from my father who taught himself (and me) everything he knew about motor mechanics.
My skills have been tested recently after my 180,000 mile engine had a very bad day. Terminal illness.
I bought a good C70 with a bad roof and low mileage.
I swapped the engines.
I should have swapped the roof.
To be fair, it was hard work and it will take weeks for my soft hands to recover, but I really enjoyed it. Apart from when I pierced the radiator doing something my father told me never to do... "never force anything" I can still hear him saying it. Luckily I had a spare.
I come to join other enthusiasts and have many questions to ask. Hopefully, I can answer a few too.
Regards from Ireland!
John
