Default blind spot monitor

I would like to add an after-market blind spot monitor to my 2004 Cross Country XC70(my 5th Volvo!) but am having difficulty determining if it can be done at a reasonable price($100-$150) or even if it's a good idea. There's an after-market product that was reviewed in the July 2013 issue of Consumer Reports that sounded pretty good. It was available thru Goshers.com. Went to a couple of places that install car stereos and they suggested it would cost possibly hundreds of dollars to install. I do not want to attempt to install it myself. Would appreciate any comments about my situation or about blind spot monitors in general. Thank you.

So you want a system installed for $150 total? That product alone runs $350 without installation.

I meant $100-$150 to have it installed. I'm aware of the price of the system itself.

Ah okay.

I still think you would be hard pressed to find a shop to do all that for $150.
