I just got my 2007 S80 3 weeks ago, and I love it. Last night we had severe weather, and the car was sitting outside at a friend's house. This pic shows the size of some of the hailstones that fell at my house. The largest I measured @ 2.5 inches across!



Luckily the Volvo only sustained minor damage, but it does have a few dings on the trunk, top, and hood. There are also a few scratches on the side where the hail hit. I'm sure the bodyshops will be swamped for awhile. I'll get a repair estimate ASAP. It could have been much worse.....I had both of our convertible Mustangs in the garage!

 

Welcome to VF. That is some serious hail!! It is a good thing the mustangs were in the garage.

Anyway, that really stinks that your 3 week old S80 already has damage done to it. At least it is not that bad. Do you happen to have any pictures?

 

The dings are pretty minor, so I don't think they would show up too well in photos. I have a friend with a black Ford Edge. She says is looks like the surface of a golfball!

 

State Farm gave me a check for $2k for the hail damage. I had a zero deductible on comprehensive coverage. The dings are minor, but they paid to have the sides painted because of some small scratches. I'll probably just have the paintless dent removal guys fix the dings in a few weeks. Most of the scratches buffed out fine.

Also, I just made a deal today to buy an extremely clean 2000 C70 convertible for my daughter. It has 76k miles and a clean car-fax. I will post some pics within a week or so after we bring it home. My daughter was fussing about the body style (said it was a grandpa car!), but after she drove it she changed her tune. I think it's an awesome car, especially for the money.
