first volvo purchase--glad search is over!
several months of looking yielded an awesome S-60. enjoying now the details of figuring out what this button does, and how to program memory seats. great forum to join! kudos to those that help others here. just posted a question about fog lights in audio/visual electrical if anyone has any ideas. looking to learn and make the drive more enjoyable.
2001 S-60 2.4T 54,000 miles. one owner. dealer maintained. all service records through required intervals. geartronic trans. power everything. heated seats.
major work done:
replaced Throttle body. "recall 141" cooling fan replaced. Replaced rear pads and rotors. Replaced drivers door lock unit.
regular maint. items like pollen filters, turbo return line gaskets and oil changes.
I love buying cars from owners that keep excellent records.
I think Tech responded to my question on the fog lights so im going there next.

What a good feeling indeed. while mine is 6 years older it only has 20K more miles. It is and probably will remain so, the best car purchase I have ever made. I know it is. I can't wait to really get to know her. All cars are "hers" right? Well mine is anyway and she is beautiful. And I second the thing with good service records. No questions at all, it is all written down. Nice find
Flyboy,
Congradulations! I am just curious as to the price paid for this car. The S60 is an excellent model and I'm glad you found one that is safe and sound with all of the records. Hope everything works out well and enjoy!

paid $14,500. the owner wanted more but took my offer. I think he was getting tired of showing it to people.
helps to be waving a cashiers check in your hand.

not sure about mods right now. mostly a work commuter car. when i think of mods i think K&N filter / performance chips..etc.
i think just getting some miles on the car first to check everything out would be a good idea. today i replace wipers and put 36 psi in all the tires. checked brakes and oil. the previous owner said he never had to add oil to the engine in between oil changes. so far so good. oh, also put the spare tire/tool kit and jack back together and secured in its proper location. it would have been nice in volvo made a bracket to hold the truck mat up while digging around in the spare tire area.
still lovin the car!
