i have 900 miles on my new 2004 s80 , it feels like the gas pedel lags behind the excelleration ,, do all the s80;s with the t5 engine 208hp awd do this ,,it is a bit anoying on turns... can it be adjusted?? is this a problem with other owners?

 

Have you had it at the dealership yet?If not take it there they might have a software download that will help make it more responsive.

Every since they went to electronic throttle control in 1999 there have been many complaints about this problem.

 

My dad used to work at a Volvo dealer here in Minnesota and that was something he noticed on the S80 too. Turns out that it has something to do with city driving versus country driving. As soon as you get it past 30 mph (or 3,000 rpm or so) it should take off like a bandit. The S80 was meant for luxery not sport. However, if you insert a chip into the car you can bypass that programing in the computer and get a better exceleration.
