I have been talking to my father-in-law about his 240DL just sitting there in the driveway. Im psyched to get it. I have an '05 Scion tC and have been looking for a beater to get to worka nd back for the daily grind. Little did I know, that the beater I would eventually find would be such a great car. It is not in the best shape

List of Problems:

1) leaks oil from somewhere
2) no ac
3) no heat


my biggest concern is the oil leak, it goes down the s pipe somewhere after it sbeen driven. if anyone has suggestions about what the problem is, i would greatly appreciate it.

Update on condition: advice needed


So Ive "Tried before I buy" so to speak for the past two days. I have an hour drive to work each day over some rough terrain (city roads.)

It seems as if the oil leak is not so good. I went through a half a quart in two days.

When I am at a stop and I try to turn to the left, it seems like it doesnt want to turn. almost like the rack and pinion is going.

Other than those two issues, and the need for new tires, it drives like a beaut....i mean, the interior couold be in better condition, but other than that....schweet.
