A couple months ago, a friend gave me a 1994 Volvo 940 that has been sitting for about 7 years.

I have had a Renault, Fiat and VW in the past and was pleased about obtaining this car. I have heard that they are about bullet proof!

The fuel system needed serious attention, including the pump/sending unit that fits in the tank. After completing the repair and cleaning the tank and ejectors, it still wouldn't start. Turned out to be a broken timing belt. After completing that repair along with others it finally came alive! Not perfect mid you, but good enough to drive.

Having trouble getting the AC working and found this site.

Hope to find help here and try to help others with my limited Volvo knowledge.

 

a good resource is volvotips.com - where there are shop manuals posted. What have you done so far to test out the AC system? it would be helpful if your friend can say whether the AC was working prior to sitting.
