Hello all, Newly joined member here!
Just purchased 2011 S40 T5 R-Design last week.
It has 145,000km (about 90,000 mi), locally owned by an old couple who seems to be a collector of some nice cars such as classic Lambo, Ferrari, etc. and this S40 was always garage kept and used as their regular daily vehicle. It looks like 3 years old car, not 12.. very clean.
When I ran carfax through my brother who's a dealer, it was always maintained and serviced by Volvo. (not every visit has detail description of the service works).. most recent job was rear rotor/pad & timing belt change at around 125,000 km.
I assume all recommended maintenance on schedule were followed.. car runs great! drove it from Hamilton to Ottawa (500km) with no problem. I hear some slight humming? at around 90-120km/h with small vibration which I think it could be (hopefully) just balancing on winter wheels and tire noise.
Aside from that, it has slight whistling noise when accelerating but goes away when I'm maintaining a constant speed.
I know I'll be asking several questions over next several years given that this car is 12 years old! but I'm so happy that I got this car.
Thanks!
