Codes on my volvo 940 i dont get it.
Got the codes on my volvo 940..
ignition codes- 2-3-4 throttle switch signal missing
2-1-4 ignition rpm sensor signal erratic absent or faulty.
fuel codes- 1-2-1 - map signal absent or faulty.
problem listed below what was happening.. .Any help please
Car drives about 15 miles and car surges a couple times, all the lights come on in the dash and engine completely stops. Pull over try to start... crank...crank.. crank... for about 10 mins and within this time the engine rpms will be jumping all over the place engine shaking and eventually it will start... 2 - 3 miles down the road same thing. Sometimes it dont do it at all. If I do some quick city driving 2 or 3 miles here or there its fine.
When I was having this problem before I wound up replacing fuel filter, plugs, coil, wires. Same thing. The I replaced my crank position sensor cause It was frayed on the insulation and broken wires. Then WOW it ran smooth for almost 1.5 months. Then one day it happened again. I dont get it. Someone told me it was my catalytic converter cause he smelled some sulfur when I was trying to get it to crank. So I dont know. Guy at the volvo dealer told my friend it may be my heat riser valve.
