I just bought a 1987 740 Volvo, and for some odd reason, my exhaust is shedding. What I mean to say is, I have been pulling hair, almost like weave, out of the back of my exhaust. This also happened to another car that I had before, and it died within that same month. I am scared that the same thing will happen to my Volvo. Does anyone have any ideas about why my car is "shedding"?

 

probably the 'glass' packing material from one of the mufflers.
don't stress, wont hurt anything.
Worst case is a new muffler.
