Im getting a 244

I'm not a 244 expert, but won't the headlamp lenses deflect the beams to the left for UK use, so in US they'd be illegal & dangerous because that would leave them blinding oncoming drivers?
Suggest you re-post in the 240 forum.
Good luck.

Of course you're right volvowagonmama - what would someone in right-hand drive Britain who often drives his car in left-hand drive Europe know about which way headlamp lenses are designed to deflect the beams and the penalties for not using temporary beam deflectors in order to avoid annoyance and danger to other road users? Silly me!

RE: Im getting a 244
My first post was perfectly friendly & explained the reason you shouldn't fit UK headlights.
Your reply, however, was that as long as they fit there's no problem & anyway, they're adjustable. Therefore I kind of figured that you'd wasted my time, since you already knew the answer, so why shouldn't sarcasm creep into my second response? Might I suggest that it was your first reply that suggested its author was a smart a$$.
The fact I'm in Britain isn't a secret - my profile is quite clear.

Gratefully accepted & understood volvowagonmama. Please do accept my apologies back too.
If you take a close look at the headlight lenses, they have patterns on them. These patterns are designed to direct the light beams & the patterns are different between left & right-hand drive vehicles, for the reasons I've already given.
Some newer cars have no obvious patterns on the lenses, but the glass is subtly shaped to bend the beams instead (and cost a small fortune to replace if they get broken, since they are more expensive to produce!).
