First, I just wanted to drop in and say hello since as a newbie, I have read a number of the threads and was amazed at the level of expertise on the site. I just recently acquired my first Volvo, a lovely 1997 850 wagon that though it is the base model, was purchased new by the previous owners with nearly all the available option packages. It still looks new on the inside, has no rust, and drives wonderfully.

However, this car does not have roof rails and trying to locate a pair at any of the salvage yards here in central Ohio has not been fruitful. I have however found a couple of ads on Craigslist from folks parting out V70/XC70 models. So here is my question: I did see on another thread that a 1998 V70's rails will fit my 850, but does anyone know at what year the "match" stops? In other words, will anything after 1999 fit?
