just picked up my first Volvo
Its a 96 850R, 136k miles, very clean!
All it needs to be perfect:
new drivers door red reflector light
passenger air bag cover
touch up paint on bottom corner of front air dam
driver door hinge pops
coolant smell when heat is on, I am thinking heater core
Thats it! I am loving this car!

RE: just picked up my first Volvo
That looks like it is the orangeish red they made in 96 only as opposed to the bright red that is fairly common, but a real nice color. If it is the orangish red they are fairly hard to find, and that's the first one I saw in a wagon. As far as the popping door hinge I have posted a link on how to fix that a couple times. If you do a search and can't find it let me know and I will look for it.
Front air dam is hard to keep from being all chipped up. How are the strips that run from the side of the windshield all the way to the back of the car? 136K means you are due for a timing belt too it has not been done in the last five years or 70K miles.

I think its just the picture, the color isnt really that orange.
Got the door popping fixed, it turned out to be loose on the door side so only had to remove door panel to fix. Took about 15 minutes so much easier than the standard popping.
The timing belt was done about 3k miles ago.
And the rubber strips are in great shape!
Thanks for the comments, I am looking forward to getting to know my car better.
