I’m looking for help .
I have a 1999 Doral 360 SE with twin Volvo Diesel engines , KAMD44P V drives .
It doesn’t always want to start & this code 5.4 comes up . Once started it works perfect . Here are some of the ways I can get it to start but they don’t always work .
1. Clearing the code .
2. Removing the fuse that is close to the starter and putting it back in .
3. Turning the key on & off till I see the neutral light staying solid ( not blinking) .
4. Putting the key in the on position without doing anything else till I hear the shifting mechanism recycling, may take up to 15-20 minutes to happen .
We have switched the gear shift control actuator from port engine to the starboard engine and they both work .
Does anyone have a solution to my problem?
