MAF Problem after installing K&N filter

Default MAF Problem after installing K&N filter

My maf went down 1 week after fitting K&N filter,started stalling when coming to a halt,traffic lights etc i have a 97/98 s70 2.5 turbo,i have disconnected the power to the maf so i can use the car while i wait on my new part,anyone else experienced oil contamination of these filters,new to this site so please forgive any mistakes

It would be more helpful for you to post your question in the specific forum for your vehicle. However, I'll address your issue from a very general perspective.

As a dealer, if I find one of the K&N filters in the vehicle, it goes in the trash and a Mann or other reputable brand of filter goes in. In my experience, the K&N filter is some of the best marketing hype out there. Not only do you pass more particulate matter, the oils on the filter end up in the intake stream. Yes, they contaminate the MAF as well as anything else in the stream.

You need to find a nice trash can for that filter and install a filter that you can buy anywhere. Clean the MAF and let it dry, reinstall, then drive the vehicle.

All of this "performance" crap needs to find the nearest trash or recycle bin. I really feel sorry for people who get hosed by buying this stuff.
