I would like to take this opportunity to introduce, myself. My name is Frank. I live in Miami and my son has a 1992, 240 sedanthat he is having a problem with. I am sorry that my first post is a question. I am very familiar with how helpful a forum can be. I am amoderator on the V-Rodforums.com. He is having a problem as follows: It will turn over and run for approx. 2 seconds and then it dies. If he continually pumps the gas pedal it with stay running but only ata very highrpms and when he let off the gas, it immediately dies. Hehas replaced thefuel pump and the fuel filter under the car andhe still has the same problem. He is on a very limited income and is looking for any help you can provide.

Thank you in advance.
Frank

Welcome. If you post in the S40 forum you'll probably get more hits.

Which fuel pump did he replace? The one in the tank or the one under the car?
Has the throttle body and idle motor been cleaned lately?

He replaced the fuel pump under the car. I do not think he cleaned the throttle body or the idle motor. I will tell him to clean them. How would he check for codes? I will post my question in the proper section. Just wanted to introduce myself first.

Thanks
Frank
