New to forum and New V70 XC
Hello I am new here. I am however not new to Volvos as I have 2 740's.
I am usually over @ tbricks, However they are mostly 200/700/and 900 series.
I have a few questions about my 99 v70 XC.
1. what is the W for below the shifter ?
2. what is the red light in the center fron of the dash ?
3. it has 117,xxx miles on it and the timing belt has never been changed that I can tell by the service records. When should I change it ? ( nevermind I read the sticky )
Can I just change the belt ? is it hard to do ? I do it on my 700's when needed. anyonr have some instructions? Can I check the belt for cracks is it difficult ?
4. What type of oil does it take?
sorry for just jumping in on my first day here like this but the car did not come with an owners manual.
Also any quick fix for the stupid door panels comming apart @ the armrest ?
Thanks in advance.

I'll help you out with question #1-the "W" stands for Winter Mode. As far as the timing belt goes-I can get you instructions off of VIDA if no one else offers them up readily. You can check for cracks-but if you have any doubts...do the belt! I think they rate the belt 75,000 and it is well worth your while to do the pulleys/tensioners while you're in there. Some belts are rated longer than the pulleys/tensioners (doesn't make much sense at all).
The owners manual will do you a world of good-eBay often has a ton of these listed, the last time I bought one from the Dealer it was $35 or more.
Good luck, and let me know if you want some timing belt help
