Hello folks,

just joined this forum and wanted to say hello. I am the new owner of a 1990 Volvo 240 wagon. I bought it today for $1275(amount includes the car plus taxes and titling fees) it has what the former owner things is 225000 miles as the odo died at 192000 last year.

So I am somewhat familiar with the 240 and 700 series Volvo's and know of some of the main issues such as the crap odo gearing and the rear wiper/harness breaking thing and also the relay for the Overdrive breaking but will need to turn to you folks for guidance from time to time.

I am **** when it comes to car repairs and let nobody work on my cars except myself. I am very handy turning wrenches and while I have not screwed with Volvos I have worked on other engines and a basic knowledge of engines is a good start.

The paint be faded it and the seats have a few holes in them but over all the car is in good condition. The center console(where the seatbelts latch to and the parking brake is in flawless uncracked condition and the map pockets on the door are uncracked also
