New to the Volvo forum...
...not really all that new to Volvo.
Hi guys!
First, thanks for being here! A little about me ...I'm not a Volvo owner, but I have worked on and driven hundreds, if not thousands of them, starting way back in the mid 70's. I have worked at a couple of different Volvo franchises, but for the last 14 years have been working for an independent owner/operator who was also a Volvo tech some decades ago. The bulk of our service tends to be on European makes, but we hardly ever turn anything away ...even 'Merican cars.
I'm currently in the middle of putting an S80 T6 engine back into service after it succumbed to a timing belt and tensioner failure, and bent all the valves. All is going well up to the point where I'm timing the VVT gear assembly back where it belongs. A little confusing, but I'm doing my research, so we'll see how it goes shortly.
I'll be hanging around here to gather info on the newer models and find better ways to fix things, but I'll try not to be a pest.
Welp, let's get back to work ...and thanks again, in advance!
