Red face New to Volvo. Having some issues.

Hello All! I'm new to Volvo and I love my 2004 C-70. It has 75000 miles on it and is beautiful. I'm having an issue with it and thought I would reach out to you all before i went to the Mechanic, just in case I'm doing something dumb.
I parjed my car two days ago. it was running beautifully with no indicatin of any problems. Two days later, I go to start the car to go out and put it in gear. I accelerated as i normally do and the car began to skid like the wheels were locked up. I have enough mechanical know-how to know that this is not normal and to not force anything. The3 car shifts into gear beautifully and feels like it wants to go, but it doesn't. Same in reverse. So when I first tried it, I moved the car skidding a few feet. That is where I left it. I've never seen a car do this so out of the blue. There are no issues with the brakes or the transmission as I had driven it successfully with out issue for the first six weeks I've owned it. I'm really bummed and am anticipating spending a fortune getting it corrected. I'm expecting the worse. Anyone with s=imilart experiences out there or any hints and tiups are very welcomed. Last resort is the flatbed. I just want to cry. I financed a part of the cost of the car and haven't yet made my second payment, so I'm kind of bummed Thank you all in advance. I just want to enjoy my new(old) car. It's the first day of Summer and I want to celebrate Father's day in my Volvo with the top down!

Sincerely...
Val!
